Research Interests
I am a PhD researcher, working on a research project in partnership with Gwynedd & Anglesey Youth Justice Services funded by KESS. The aim of the research is to determine whether increasing psychological resilience in relation to children and young people who prolifically offend can concurrently reduce re-offending. The initial systematic review of current psychological interventions, followed by in-depth qualitative interviews with Youth Justice staff from accross North and South Wales, will inform the development of a number of tools/techniques targeting psychological resilience. A training programme for Youth Justice staff will subsequently be developed and and evaluated. The project fits in with Public Health Wales' current Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) research, as well as the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015.
